WHAT IS Edulibre?

It's a community service project that emerged among students of department of systems engineering (computer science) of the University San Carlos, Guatemala.

 

How was it created ?

Every year the students of the department of systems engineering (computer science) attend a convention COECYS (Congress of Students of Systems and Science Engineering); in 2007 there was a conference which talked about computer recycling using the Linux Operative System and Terminal Server Project. The main focus of the conference was making a network of computers that had few capacities, to work in a rapid and efficient manner by using a server computer.

Since then, it emerged the first project ideas in our country which has many needs. Therefore we want to dedicate our time in something useful. In order to help our people, we want to give our best and to contribute on engineering ' s field. We want to take technology where people don't have it and it will let them improve and be prosperous.



What is edulibre Project ?

Edulibre Project is formed by fellow engineers and student volunteers that are willing to help with the education of their country by giving the opportunity of technology to elementary schools. All the members have invested their spare time on helping and improving the diverse areas of this project without a lucrative goal.
